Lost-ghan Square Design
“If we can’t live together, we’re gonna die alone”

Two contrasting color yarns (worsted weight)
Shown in white (MC) and orange (CC)
Size 5 needles or size to obtain gauge

36 stitches x 48 rows = 6in square
6 stitches x 8 rows = 1in square

Cast on 36 stitches in MC
Work in stst and follow chart for the rest of the square changing colors accordingly.

Changing colors:
Work in MC until the chart indicates a color change. When first adding a color to your knitting, just knit the indicated stitches in the new color, do not cut the first stand of yarn. You will now have two balls of yarn attached to your knitting. When switching back to MC, twist the two strands together and knit your next stitch in MC. Continue process switching between the two strands throughout according to the chart.

Make sure you follow the chart exactly and remember to follow the chart backwards when on the back of the work or on the purl rows.

Example of how to follow chart:
Row 3: knit 5 stitches. Change color to CC. Knit 3. Change color to MC. Knit 1. Change color to CC. Knit 1. Change color to MC. Knit 3. Change color to CC. Knit 1. Change color to MC. Knit 2. First: If you've been tagged, you must write your answers in your own LJ and replace any question that you dislike with a new question.

Second: Tag eight people. Don't refuse to do that. Don't tag who tagged you.

What song are you currently addicted to?
I love "Breakeven" by the Script

What books are you currently reading?
I'm reading Miss O'Dell right now, it's about a lady who worked for the Beatles at Apple Records and then worked on rock tours with the Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, Santana, and George Harrison. It's pretty interesting. I'm almost done with that, and then I want to read a Paul McCartney biography I have and Realityland, a book about backstage happenings at WDW.

What is the one skill you wish you had?
I just wish I wasn't so in my head all the time and concerned with what other people think of me. So the ability to just be me without fear and know I'm going to be okay.

Sweet or Salty?
Depends on the food. <----Totally agree :)

What's your current fandom/obsession/addiction?
I'm totally obsessed with The Beatles, Disney, Lost, FlashForward, Dominic Monaghan, and knitting :D

Cake or Death?
Um cake... Who would choose death?

What websites do you always visit when you go online?
Aol, Facebook, Ravelry (oh, Cat, go check this one out, it's all about knitting and crocheting with lots of free patterns and stuff) and occasionally Disboards

What was the last thing you bought?
I bought a 12 pack of Coke, butter, and French bread when I stopped by the grocery store on the way home from class.

If you could choose one event in your life to relive (but not change), what would it be?
Probably the last college program, though my friend through that turned out to be a crazy person who basically stabbed me in the back

Do you get cravings? If so, what do you crave?
I crave lots of things...

What do you do to change your mood?
Usually watch a movie, call my mom, work on a project, or drive while listening to music really loud and belting it out :)

What should you be doing right now?
Nothing really, I don't have class tomorrow, so I get the night free tonight. I wanted to work on finishing a few projects though.

Five things you can't live without.
food, my mom, Disney, air, love

Find the closest book currently sitting near you and flip to page 54. What is the first sentence of the second paragraph?
"Charmain did not let this worry her."

What's something you'd like to say to someone right now?
Why do you treat me like this?

What are you looking forward to?
Day off tomorrow and spring break next week going to Vegas and seeing Love. Woot!

The Beginning of the CP

Okay now for an update today. I checked in on Wednesday. My roommate Amy picked me up from All Star Sports at about 8AM. We stopped at the big McDonalds right outside of the hotel and got a chicken biscuit so I wouldn't be starving by the time check in was over. Amy and I drove over to Vista Way and got in line around 8:15. There was a DJ entertaining the line. He was doing Disney Trivia and playing high school musical music. I answered one question right (what's the fastest ride at WDW? Test Track) and got a little purple college program photo album. Once we went in, we filled out paper work and got our apartment. We were hoping for Chatham, Amy wanted a four person and I wanted a six person. They told me to go up to the desk and told Amy to wait. I went up and told them the complex we wanted and that we probably wanted a four person. She said that she didn't have any four person apartments left at Chatham and put us in a six person in building 21. We finished the rest of our check in and went over to our apartment to claim our room. Once we got to building 21, we found our number, but our keys didn't work. Luckily one of our roommates showed up and let us in. We claimed the room closest to the living room since there was a bathroom in the room and a separate closet. We emptied Amy's car into our room and then attempted to fix our key situation, but the clubhouse wasn't open yet. We went over to Amy's parent's hotel and picked them up and went to lunch (Panera Bread). After lunch, we went back to the apartment and met the rest of our roommates. We have Erin from Pennsylvania, Lyndsey from Pennsylvania, Emiline from Rhode Island, Katherine from Michigan, Amy from Arkansas, and me from California. We then had the housing meeting at 12:30. Four of us (Erin, Lyndsey, Amy and me) had the same welcome meeting, so Amy gave us a ride. That was basically about housing rules and it was pretty boring. Since I hadn't been getting much sleep, it was really hard not to fall asleep in the meeting. We then went over and dropped off the roomies, picked up Amy's parents and went to walmart. I picked up some essentials like hangers, food, and a comforter. We came back to the apartment, unpacked, and decorated our room. We dropped Amy's parents off at their hotel and then came back to the apartment to finish up our room. We then realized that all the other roomies we in one room talking and we went in to join them. We talked for a while getting to know each other and then went to our own rooms to spend the first night in our new home.

I'm going to have to finish this tomorrow since I'm getting really tired and Lyndsey and I are going to MK and EPCOT tomorrow. Good night!

Hey guys, I know I haven't posted, it's been crazy. I've been so busy. Here's a post that I wrote when I got to the hotel on Tuesday when I didn't have internet:
Well, I’m here at the hotel now and tomorrow I’ll be checking in for the Disney College Program. I’ve done so much in the past week, it’s hard to think that this is already starting. Last Monday the 4th of August, my computer decided to crash. I turned it on and as soon as the little apple and the loading symbol came up, it would get me a message saying that I must restart my computer. I attempted to restart my computer several times, but every time I got the same message. I looked on the internet using my mom’s computer and I found out that my computer was having kernel panics, which basically means it has a nervous break down and doesn’t know what to do. I attempted a few suggested fixes, but none of them worked. The next day, we took it in to the apple store to see what they could do and ended up waiting four hours in the store since we didn’t have an appointment. When they finally called us, they diagnosed it as having a bad logic board and we decided to leave it with them so they could send it in and fix it. We also requested that they copy the hard drive before they send it in since I didn’t have anything backed up. Then on Wednesday, they called in the morning to tell us that they were unable to copy the hard drive and so it looked like my hard drive was bad and not the logic board. We drove back over to the Apple Store picked up my computer and went over to Fry’s to buy a new hard drive to install ourselves. I got a 160GB which is twice the size of the old hard drive. We came home, I downloaded instructions on how to install the hard drive and proceeded to do that. The new hard drive worked! I was so happy. If I had sent it in, I wouldn’t have had it back for Florida. I still don’t have the data off the old hard drive, but I might try to take it to a specialist in data recovery. After that drama was over, my Aunt, Uncle, and cousin showed up. They live in Syracuse, New York and came down to visit some schools in the area that my cousin is interested in. I had one more Disneyland pass and they had extra passes from the last time they went to WDW. So on Saturday, we went to Disneyland. My cousin and brother stayed home since they weren’t too interested in Disney. We all had a good time. My aunt is afraid of roller coasters, so we didn’t get a chance to go on some of my favorites, but I got her to go on Indiana Jones, so I was happy. We stayed until closing and even go to go on the submarines which usually has an hour and a half wait. It was so much fun. I love the park after the fireworks until close. It’s the best time to be in the parks.
They left late on Sunday and then I started packing. I really hadn’t packed much up to this point and I started to freak out a little. I worked on packing all day on Monday until about one am Tuesday and my flight left at 6:50 the same day. I only got about 2 and a half hours of sleep before I had to get up at 4 to finish packing and get to the airport. Both of my flights were fine, I just read the whole time. The first flight I had an empty seat next to me. The lady sitting next to me on the second flight was very talkative. I’m not a huge fan of talking on the plane. I kind of just wanted to read, but I talked to her for a little while. Once I got to Florida, it was a little hecktic. I had to go to the A baggage claim pick up my two fifty pound bags and find the magical express to get to the Disney hotels. I got totally lost trying to find the buses and ended up walking all the way down side A hoping it would turn in to B, but it didn’t. I had to go back up the elevator find side B and then go back down the elevator to level 1. I finally found it, but I was exhausted.
Finally I got to my hotel and checked in. The girl at the counter was nice, but she didn’t speak very good English. I’m pretty sure she was an international student. She told me that I owed $13. I told her that I paid for the whole thing already and there shouldn’t be anything left that I needed to pay. She went to tell her manager and he said he would be right there. I ended up standing there waiting for him for about twenty minutes. When he finally came over, he said that I had been upgraded and I didn’t actually owe the $13. I was relieved and received my room number (1347) and a packet of stuff. I walked all the way over to my building with my suitcases, went up the elevator, walked around, and finally found my room. I reached into my packet and realized that she had forgotten to give me the key. I was so mad. I walked all the way back over to the front desk with my suitcases and picked up the key. I walked all the way back and finally got to my room.
Once I got into my room I just burst into tears. The whole day I had been on the edge of tears and this whole thing took me over the edge. I missed my mom and I just wanted to go home. My roommate called and invited me to have dinner with her and her parents. I didn’t really feel like going out, but I figured it would be a good distraction. They came and picked me up at the hotel and we went over to Olive Garden. I ordered Grilled Garlic Shrimp which was pretty good. Going out with them really helped my home sickness. I’m sure it’ll hit me again tomorrow or when I talk to my mom again before bed. I’m really nervous.

Yes, yes, I know it's been a really long time since I posted. For some reason I always have a problem with writing in journals. The real reason I started this was to have a way to remember little things about doing the College Program. I did the program once before and didn't have a journal to write anything and I always regretted it. I love remembering little details and specific days. If I don't recount specifics by writing them down right after they happen, everything ends up all mixed together and I can only remember generals. I also was hoping to help others who haven't done the program yet to let them see what the program is. I also haven't found much at all on the internet about being a role hopper, so maybe I will be helping people see what that's like as well. Hopefully as things start picking up and when I get down there I will start to write more.

Okay, now on to new things. I only have two weeks until I check in for the program. I have my flights. I'll be arriving on the 12th of Aug. at around 5PM. I'll then be taking the Magical Express to All Star Sports. I'm guessing it will probably take about an hour or two to get to All Star Sports depending on luggage and how many people are there. So that means I wont be to the hotel until six or seven. Then I'll need to get up early the next day since my roommate and I want to get to Vista around eight. The three hour time difference is going to kill me. I'll be going to sleep around 9PM my time and getting up at 3:30 or 4AM my time. It's going to suck. I guess I probably wont be able to sleep much that night anyway 'cause I'll be worrying and anticipating. Oh my gosh, and it's only two weeks from now, yikes!

Okay, so I've got most of the stuff figured out for the trip. Now I just need to work on packing. I've got a stack of things I know I'm going to take. I've got sheets (Wall-e ones on sale at walmart, so cute), some decorations, my trading pins, my pennies for squishing, etc. That stuff's all set aside. I'm still not sure how much space I'm going to have. I'll have two big suitcases and some kind of carry on. I'll probably just have to wait until a day or two before I leave to see how much to actually bring. I'm slowly getting stuff together and hopefully I'll have space for everything I'll have in my stack.

One other thing I've been working on is trying to think of a Halloween costume. At the moment, I've got three options. The only problem is I'll have to make these costumes and I'll have to pack them. I'll post the pictures of the three options and give me your opinion. Here they are:

Oh, and I've also been doing some clay stuff. I've made a few things. Here's a picture:

The gray charms with the Mickey on them are supposed to be the CP logo. I have like 120 of them, so I'll probably be giving them out to people on the program. If you want one let me know.

Okay, I think that's enough for today. I'll try posting more as the CP gets closer. I can't believe I'll be in Walt Disney World in two weeks. I'm so excited and nervous!

Well, while I was on checking my friend's posts, I decided I should post something. Not too much is new at the moment. I officially have my friend Amy as my roommate. A couple of days ago, maybe three or four days after I submitted my college program assessment fee, the college program website finally let me log in to the roommate part. I immediately called Amy to let her know, but she was busy and told me she would call me later. She called me back at about 8:30pm my time and we both logged on and accepted each other as roommates. I'm so glad that it all worked out. When she accepted long before I even was able to interview, I didn't really expect it to be a possibility that we could room together. And then when I signed in to see what dates were still available, the only one that was was almost a month after hers. I just never expected it would actually happen. I'm so excited!

Another CP thing I've been thinking about is how I'm going to get to Florida. Neither of my parents want me to take my car. And with gas prices, I don't really think it's a possibility. On my first CP, my mom and I drove cross-country to get to FL. It was so much fun and it was really nice to have my car. I'm still trying to figure a few things out, but it looks like I'll be flying. I also need to find a place to stay at least one night, the 12th. I would really like to stay at one of the Disney resorts, but then I don't know how to get to Vista without paying for a taxi. My roommate Amy will have a car, but she thinks that her car will be so full with her stuff and both her parents that she wont have room in her car to come pick me up. I'm still trying to figure these things out. Also if I fly, I'll have to limit what I bring with me. I guess that's good because I brought way too much last time, but I'm just worried about forgetting something important. I need to start making a list of what I need to bring and what I need ot buy once I'm there.

Yay! it works. So the caption for the previous picture is that I saw this cut out in the movie theater when we went to go see Indiana Jones and I just had to get my picture taken with it. I'm not exactly a huge fan of High School Musical, so I did it more as a joke. I can't believe they are coming out with a third one that comes out in theaters. Okay, so here's some more:

This is me on the day I got my letter before I even opened it.

This is the letter and packet after I opened it.

And now for the cruise:
Here's the group of us at our first dinner on the cruise ship

Our cabin on the ship.

The whole group in Cabo on the glass bottom boat.

Cool Rabbit towel animal.

Our waiter, Bien, created this at dinner by balancing forks on toothpicks. It was really cool.

Another towel animal.

A cute baby donkey in Puerto Vallerta.

Here's us with the magic act on the ship: Kyle Knight and Mistie.

That's all I have at the moment. Hope you enjoy them.
